Seneffe, 1674 - Part 7 - Allied Order of Battle
![]() |
Dutch Musketeer, circa 1674, by Patrice Courcelle |
The following is the seventh in a series of posts about the Battle of Seneffe, the first five providing sources for the battle: 1) a translation of William of Orange's letters, 2) a selection from Quincy's Histoire Militaire. 3) a selection from Aumale's Histoire des Princes de de Condé, 4) a translation of a German broadsheet entitled Beschreibung der Schlacht, and 5) a diagram showing the French Order of Battle from the French National Library. The sixth post was a reconstruction of the French Order of Battle, based on Rene Chartrand's books.
Based on information found in Bruno Mugnai's Wars and Soldiers in the Early Reign of Louis XIV, I have been able to construct the following lists of the Spanish, Imperial, and Dutch armies at the Battle of Seneffe on August 11th 1674.
